So Ive been told my post last night was incoherent and hard to follow because I was blogging while angry….so hopefully tonight’s is better for everyone! Philosophy class was tonight…so that means some of the infamous wisdom that was shared in class will be relayed to the blog! Tonight was all about deception, but only a few funnies came from it…here they are…”When Fascism comes to America it will be covered in the American Flag and carrying the Bible”, “Women make better spies because they are sneaky, and wear makeup. Men dont wait to leave the house until after they have put on their makeup, their face is their face, but women…well they conceal everything”, “The Internet is destroying the English language”, and finally one of my classmates believes that “prisoners of war are living well at Guantanamo Bay…better that what they were living with at home.” Imso not kidding you on the last one! Oh yeah, one more “Vote blank, because no choice is undemocratic!” Thats my favorite one!
Has everyone heard about Texas’s new plan to house Hurricane Ike victims on boats?! I think its sweet! As long as its temporary..id totally live on an old cruise ship! Can I have a balcony please!?! (The only downside to my request is that I was not left homeless by the hurricane so I doubt Ill get my request)
Well Palin came out saying that Obamas infomercial was short on specifics…um wait…isnt that what campaigning is, saying things that sound good, but actually have no substance or direct responses? Wow, and here McCains Campaign has been specific and totally forthcoming on all the policy agendas they plan to impose…wait…you mean to tell me that they havent? HAHAHA…
Um…setting yourself on fire is bad…ummkay?! Even if you are a Buddhist monk during the Vietnam protests, or a Seattle college faculty member who decided to do it for some unknown none political reason…its bad! If for no other reason than it hurts, and makes everything around it smell like burnt meat.

Well we may have just seen a new way to campaign in the future…by Infomercial. Gee Thanks Obama! Im not sure the country, or the world for that matter, can take 30 minute political propaganda adds in the future (although I will say I felt this one was done well). Whats next? A 24/7 channel where the candidates can spew their policies? Oh wait, its already been created in the form of Fox News…and the candidates don’t even have to be present! Wow!
Well Im thinking that someone has been watching a little too much Little Miss Sunshine and taking too much advice from the Gramps. An 82 year old Kentucky man was arrested after attempting to trade drugs for sex. All I can picture is the scene in the movie where the Grandpa is talking about why its okay for him to do drugs and not the younger generation…because hes gonna die anyways, and then turns and lectures his grandson on sleeping with multiple women…
Well this headline, um, sums up the article “The stink in farts control Blood Pressure.” In case you cant figure out where this is going, scientists have discovered the H2S gas is produced in cells lining the heart, and reduces blood pressure, so they are now concentrating on finding a way to create the gas as a new form of BP Control med. Um…have they thought about the implications of said new med? I wonder if they can make the gas smell like daisies?
On a serious note, for those of you who dont know that Im planning on writing my MA thesis on the war inthe Congo (well now you do), all I can say is that its bad. It must be if the soldiers are fleeing the eastern side of the country along with the civilians! All I can say is that it is going to get nasty again, and the “end” of the war in 2002 really wasn’t an “end” but a short lived truce to the conflict. Still during that time over 400,000 people/year were dying. Millions have been killed since the start in 1996. Im fuming right now!

Alright everyone…Time to play a guessing game. What does Condi Rice want to do after she is jobless? Option 1) becoming a talking head on Fox News, Option 2)become a Daily Show Team Member, or Option 3) Become NFL Commisioner. If you guessed Option 3 you would be right! Heck I was really hoping for Option 1 so that I would never have to see her again (seeing as I refuse to watch Fox News), but nope…she wants to be incharge of my favorite sport! Damn her! Okay that may be a little extreme. But it seems that its not only a dream, but could eventually over time become a reality. Seems the SF 49ers are wanting to offer her a job, and then theres talks about her taking the place of Gene Upshaw at the Players Union….All Ihave to say is ok to the 49ers…if you want her you can have her, but please dont replace Gene with Condi! I know his spot needs filling, but seriously folks!

Odd news story updates:
Um…so there’s this lady in Texas who is charges with Capital Murder. Well apparently she is not behind jail, but was allowed to stay at home on house arrest…because of her weight. She apparently weighs about 1000lbs, and requires special transportation and assistance and was thus ruled not to be a flight risk. I get that part, but what I want to know is who did she kill and how?!?! If she can barely leave her house without help, how did she get charged with capital murder?
A Canadian serving a life sentence for the rape and murder of a 15 year old girl won a lwasuit against the prison system because apparently a guard laughed at him when he got his thumb mangled in a workshop accident. Um….I know the US was “sue happy” but Canada? And doesn’t the jury remember what its like to be in High School…because if this had happened then there would have been a whole lot more people laughing than 1 guard! Give me a break people!
I love it…an American idiot who is trying to sue Amtrak for his own stupidity. He apparently trespassed on their property and climbed on top of a train car and got struck by 27,500 volts of electricity from an overhead wire. His charge is that Amtrak should have known that people trespass and climb train cars and thus should have parked the trains in a less-accessible spot. Um…wasn’t that what the fence and barbed wire were for dude?!?!
A California flasher ran from police, and was later caught…at the local nude beach.
Detroit really is a dying city. Apparently the dead dont even want to stay there anymore. Detroit sees about 5000 people a year move away. However it is now seeing an increase of about 500 dead people moving away too. It seems that once moved, relatives dont even want to return to the city to visit deceased relatives and instead pay to have them relocated! Gee…Detroit cant even keep the dead!
And off the weird and onto the crazy…did anyone else see that McCain guaranteed a victory? Im sure it will be a close election, and he could possibly pull out a win, but the cockiness of it kills me! Also…Alaska paper endorses Obama…funny!
Well Im off to read and write a paper for class tomorrow. Yes im still sick, but im thinking Russ’s alcohol advice actually helped! Ive been drinking less tea today and not coughing as much! Give me more beer! Just Kidding!

“Kristina has been sick, and her coughing sounds like shes dying, but that didn’t stop her from trying to entertain me! Last night was loud. Her roommates were having too much fun, and then one couldn’t get out of the bathroom. Im not sure what was really going on, but I didnt get much sleep. So to make up for it tonight, she took me to Waikiki. Waikiki is different at night time. There are some strange people. Tonight I saw a girl walking around in a German Bavarian outfit carrying a huge glass stein…and its not even Halloween yet! Also, there were these girls walking around dressed like the madhatters. That would be a fun costume if I didnt already have one! After doing some people watching we went to this really nice club called the Lotus Room. It was loud, and Ive never heard that kind of music before. Kristina calls it techno. There wasn’t much dancing going on though, except Kyle who I think could attempt to dance to anything! He’s funny! I can’t wait until next friday when everyone will be in costume! It will be a blast.”

Well the rest of last night was interesting…lets just say it involved a roommate(Chris) passing out in the bathroom, and then while coherent, unable to figure out how to unlock the door, and then his girlfriend freaking out and trying to check on him by throwing rocks at the bathroom window…needless to say this involved breaking glass at 2am. Then when I finally fell asleep, she kept pounding on the bathroom door all night. I woke up this morning to a different kind of pounding with Charlie and Kim moving out, and discovered that our primary bathroom no longer has a door handle. Apparently it was disassembled/torn apart …not sure if Chris did it himself, or it was an attempt by others to get into the bathroom to get him. Either way, the door does not shut completely, let alone lock! Oh what fun! Plus Im still sick…
Me being sick didn’t keep me away from things though…upon the sound wisdom of Russ…I went out drinking with the guys…and girls. (Russ’s advice was that it is a scientific fact that alcohol kills germs). Met up with everyone in Waikiki at some Mexican restaurant/bar, and then went to some MBA HPU shindig at the Lotus Room. It was a really upscale place, that made Erik happy because on the second floor they were playing techno. I miss my dive bars, and casual laid back places. It was nice to see the place, but not my cup of tea! And i should know tea by now! Met a girl named Melanie, who’s friends with Kyle…seems cool, and is alot like me…travel/save the world/meet new people/live in some random place type person. Ill be seeing her again at the Halloween drinking night.
Things that weirded me out or surprised me today: 1)Kyle dressed up…and not having a baseball hat on(see the pic above). 2)receiving Skyline chili in the mail 3) the bathroom door.

Well im not sure how to start tonight’s blog, but to say that sometimes having roommates suck! Especially when they are mostly younger, and guys…especially military guys. Ok Im not bashing the military here…but I definitely see a difference between the enlisted and the officer corps as far as behavior goes! I spent the last hour trying to avoid masculine posturing over some stupid comment made by…none other than Eric (lil bro). I swear, Im shocked this boy hasn’t either been punched yet, either because of some stupid comment, or in most cases…his girl drama. He is entertaining though and fun to talk to. Ahhhh…..maybe i should think about Erik and Kyles suggestion to move to Waikiki or even Downtown.
Im not sure what to make of this odd news story…an Ohio woman gives birth to triplet granddaughters…Ok, it can be taken as a good thing that a family member was willing to help out another family member, or EWWWWWWW. Not sure I should be flying my Ohio loyalty flag, or hiding the fact that Im from Ohio. I would say its a southern Ohio thing and leave it as that, but this occurred in Cleveland!
Rule number 1 for guys who aren’t getting any… if a girl rejects you, don’t pee on her dog…it may land you in jail! It did for some numnut in Wisconsin.
If a dog is barking too much, dont kidnap the dog…it could also present an opportunity to spend some quality time with your local police. Im wondering if this California lady has been watching too much tv…kinda reminds me of a scene from Dexter.

Im not sure what to make of the conversation I just had…anyone contemplating on becoming a vegan on me?! No? Good. I respect choices and everything, heck I understand vegetarians and all, but vegans are a whole other level of foodphobia for me! No my friend is not becoming a vegan…at least she better not be…j/k. But the conversation about food I just had had me rolling laughing and coughing at the same time…I was about to cough up a lung from the laughter…I hate being sick! If you read an article on food, it may make you go huh, and cause you to re-evaluate your choices a little, but to make you do a 180 is kinda extreme…so…to my friend…take a deep breath and chill!
Well my political rant on isolationism, diplomacy, and talking to your enemies must not have fallen on deaf ears…or maybe Hell is freezing over..not sure which. I never in my right mind thought Id see the day that Bush actually reverses rhetorical stances and actually contemplates talks with Iran, or even better, an embassy in Iran! Im glad, but its kinda like the John Oliver skit on Daily Show when he was talking about Bush being GOOD for Africa…its a weird concept and doesn’t roll off the tongue easily!
